Employee Spotlight – Jared

Jared just completed his 40 week-long training program here at MR, and we won’t lie to you – that’s not easy. We couldn’t be more proud of him and we are eager to see what accomplishments and successes are in store for him here. Our Lead Guest Services Coordinator, Annalies took a moment to sit down with Jared and talk to him about his time here so far.

Annalies: This month marks your 1 year at the salon, what is your favorite part about working for MR?

Jared: The people – all of them. Not just the ones that I work with, but the guests that I get the pleasure of catering to and spending time with on a daily basis. They create the perfect environment for me.

Annalies: You just finished the rigorous 40 week training program at MR; what did you find most challenging about your time in the program?

Jared: I’m a perfectionist, and I had to remind myself that although the designers here set the level of excellence and expectation very high, that perfection is not the end goal. I had to learn how to get out of my own way at times to enjoy the success that I am enjoying now.

Annalies: What has been your proudest moment at MR?

Jared: The last couple weeks before my completion of the program, there were a few days that I had a full book of guests. It was the first time I was really under pressure to put what I had learned into practice, and I did it!

Annalies: What makes you come to work every day?

Jared: My passion for what I do drives me. I also learn something new every single day here.

Annalies: What do you feel is the most important aspect of your job?

Jared: The happiness of my guests.

Annalies: What would people be surprised to learn about you?

Jared: The story of my past. I’ve been through a lot to get where I am now.

Annalies: What’s on your wish list for the next 10 years here at MR?

Jared: I want to grow as a stylist and take on bigger roles in the company. I’m also excited for the day that new talent joins us and I am able to pass on what I’ve learned so far.

Annalies: Do you have any advice for prospective candidates wanting to enter MR’s training program?

Jared: Be open-minded to everything. Take any constructive suggestions that these people tell you and apply them, you won’t regret it.
